Global Humanitarian Overview (GHO) Geneva event 2024.

 

On 11 December 2023, OCHA will launch the Global Humanitarian Overview (GHO) 2024. The GHO events will take place in three locations on the same day: Doha, Qatar (with the Doha Forum and the State of Qatar); Geneva, Switzerland; and in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (in collaboration with the African Union Commission). The event is also livestreamed on UN WebTV

What is Global Humanitarian Overview

The Global Humanitarian Overview (GHO) is the annual overview of humanitarian trends and needs worldwide, and the interagency plans to respond to the crises. The GHO includes a summary of the funding necessary to implement the plans next year.

 

The aim of GHO

The aim of hosting the event is to raise global awareness of pressing humanitarian needs and support systemwide resource mobilisation efforts, with the overarching theme of “Transforming Humanitarian Action: People at the Centre”, reflecting our commitment to greater inclusiveness and effectiveness.
